Conditional Green Card & Citizenship?

Got a conditional green card (through marriage)? Hold on applying for citizenship yet! Here's the deal:

  • Conditional Green Card ≠ Regular Green Card: It's valid for 2 years and requires removing conditions before naturalization.

  • Removing Conditions: File Form I-751 jointly with your spouse within 90 days before expiration.

  • Once Conditions Removed: You become eligible to apply for naturalization if you meet other requirements (residency, good character, etc.).

Naturalization Path for Conditional Green Card Holders: Remove conditions first, then apply for citizenship!
