Cobditional Visa and I-90?

Ever get something awesome, but it comes with a "temporary" label? That's kind of how a conditional green card works. But fear not, fellow conditional green card holder! There's a way to shed that label and become a full-fledged 10-year green card holder – and it doesn't involve using Form I-90.

Hold on a Sec, What's a Conditional Green Card?

Typically, this applies to folks who got their green card through marriage to a US citizen or permanent resident (and it's been less than two years). It's like a green card on probation!

Ditching the "Conditional" Label

To remove these conditions and score the real deal – a 10-year green card – you need a different form: Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence.

Form I-90 is for Later

Think of Form I-90 as the "regular" green card paperwork. It's what you'd use to replace a lost, stolen, damaged, or expired green card that's not conditional.

Remember:

  • Form I-751: Your ticket to a full 10-year green card (for those with conditional green cards).

  • Form I-90: Your buddy for replacing a regular (non-conditional) green card.

By using the right form, you'll be well on your way to green card freedom! Now go forth and enjoy the benefits of your permanent residence status!
