Family Green Cards: I-864 a Option?

Applying for a green card for a family member often involves an Affidavit of Support. This shows you can financially support them.

Use Form I-864EZ instead of the regular form (I-864) if you meet ALL these:

  • You’re the only sponsor.

  • You’re sponsoring just one person.

  • It’s your spouse, child under 21, or parent (you’re 21+).

  • Your income (W-2 wages/salary only) meets the minimum requirement (125% of poverty guidelines for your household size).

Benefits of I-864EZ:

  • Shorter and simpler to complete.

Important Notes:

  • Read the instructions carefully to ensure you qualify and provide accurate information.

  • If you don’t qualify for I-864EZ, use Form I-864 instead.

  • Consider consulting an immigration attorney for personalized guidance.
