The Document:
Form I-131, Application for Travel Document, is commonly used for adoption travel.
What You'll Need to Prove:
Why you're traveling (adoption!): Explain your adoption process with legal documents or agreements.
Scheduled meetings/appointments abroad related to the adoption.
Any other documents supporting your adoption travel need.
Who Can Apply:
Lawful permanent residents (green card holders), conditional permanent residents, refugees, and asylees. (DACA recipients are not eligible for Form I-131 for this purpose.)
The Process:
Fill out Form I-131 carefully following USCIS instructions.
Submit the form with supporting documents and filing fee to the designated USCIS address.
