Waiver with Application? (I-601)

Under certain circumstances you can file Form I-601 (waiver for inadmissibility) alongside another application! Here's when:

  • Adjustment of Status (Green Card): Applying for a green card (Form I-485) and inadmissible due to reasons like unlawful presence or past crimes? You might be able to file both applications together.

  • Immigrant Visa Interview: Found inadmissible during a visa interview abroad? You might be eligible to submit a waiver request (Form I-601) then.

  • Other Applications (Sometimes): In specific cases, waivers can be filed with petitions like Form I-130 (relatives) or Form I-751 (green card conditions removal).
